Apple is gearing up for the launch of the flagship iPhone 17, which will be more expensive than the previous year’s lineup. The iPhone 16 series was already on the pricier side, however amidst the global tariff scenarios and supply chain issues could lead to the iPhone 17 series being more expensive. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the iPhone launch could happen on September 9 or September 10, which is consistent with the company’s long-standing pattern of doing launches.
Apple is likely to unveil and launch four new iPhone models at this year’s launch event, which are the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and for the first time, iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Plus model will be discontinued from this year onwards. Additionally, the company is planning to launch the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE3, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 alongside the smartphones, making it a very big event with a packed product lineup.
Apple iPhone 17 is likely to come with a major price hike this year, which could be the aftermath of tariffs models. The iPhone 17 Air and the Pro variants could don a horizontal camera module this year instead of the vertical module in the previous year’s iPhone 16 series. Additionally, this year Apple will be unveiling its slimmest iPhone ever, which is one of the most anticipated launches. Since the American smartphone manufacturer has claimed that the Air model will be slimmer, at about 2mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro delivering top-tier performance.
iPhone 17: Chipset
American Smartphone Manufacturer Apple is expected to introduce an all-new A19 Pro chip fabricated with TSMC’s next-generation 3nm process. Additionally, along with new processors, the smartphone is also believed to get upgraded to 12GB of RAM. This will result in the first time for an iPhone to offer 12GB RAM options. Moreover, the expanded RAM could offer even more smoother Apple Intelligence experience to users.
Apple is believed in to provide a brand new 48MP telephoto lens, which might offer up to 8x optical zoom. Additionally, the smartphone manufacturer will also increase the smartphone’s main 48 MP main camera and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. (Still missing out on the telephoto) sensor !!!!!. The iPhone 17 model could also offer 8K video recording. Moreover, in the front, the selfie camera may also be due for an upgrade and might be getting a 24 MP camera.
iPhone 17 Pro: Battery and Display
With iPhone 17 series, users can expect an upgraded ceramic shield. Nevertheless, Apple is rumoured to introduce a new anti-reflective and scratch-resistant display for the models. As a result, this display could include nano-texture benefits, which can be compared to what we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra model. Lastly, the most important expectation from the iPhone 17 the battery might get an upgrade. It’s expected to get a bulkier build due to a bigger battery. Alongside a bigger battery, iOS 26 has also introduced a new Adaptive Power mode that restricts certain background actions to provide longer battery life.
iPhone 17: Price
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup—which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—is expected to hit the market between September 8 and September 10, 2025. The iPhone 17 Pro is likely to carry a price tag of Rs 1,45,990 in India, $1,199 in the United States, and approximately AED 4,403 in the UAE. Meanwhile, the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max could be launched at Rs 1,64,990 in India, $1,499 in the US, and around AED 5,299 in Dubai.
